Sunflowers

Hello! I got my craft room hauled back in... ok most of it! But I had to at least get enough supplies out to play along with Taylored Expressions Last Card Standing challenge. You can find the details here, wouldn't it be awesome to win?? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Project Runway : ) So of course I had to play!

For my card I used Deconstructed Sketch #69 and an old CTMH paper pack, Back Country. The stamps are both Taylored Expressions, I paper pieced the sunflowers after I colored them with Copics. That was fun to cut out, lol. The button is from a past KI kit, misc twine, and CTMH brads finish it off.

Thanks for looking!

Fabulous Mom

Hello again! I have one more card I was able to make this weekend to share. This is the card I will be giving my mom for Mother's Day. I sooo loved how it turned out. I flipped the Taylored Expressions sketch #157. I will definately use this one again, I love the flags. The Simple Stories- Fabulous patterned papers, flowers, and ribbon are all from the April KI kit... shocker I know! Sorry, I love this kit!

I stamped the wreath from TE Summer Wreath set and used flowers from the kit instead of coloring to give some dimension. I also used some smaller Prima flowers so there was some variation in the flower size. The Mom and sentiment are from Verve.

That's all from me for now, Thanks for looking!

With Deepest Sympathy...

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I know I got a lot of stamping done, however it was with great sorrow in my heart. A family from the church I grew up in unexpectantly lost their son who was a freshman in high school on Saturday. It has definately left a mark on my heart. I made this card for my mom to give to his parents. They have been through so much in the past few years, I truly pray this card brings them comfort!

I used Taylored Expressions sketch #151... seriously love how it turned out. The papers, ribbon, and brads are all from November's Key Ingredients Kit. The swirl on front is CTMH and Prima flowers inside. The beautiful scripture is a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the inside stamp is from Taylored Expressions.

This card is also my submission for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #124: Show your true style. I know my style is more simple, but it is full of love! I truly feel my true style and my best cards are the ones where I am honestly trying to bring some joy or peace to the recipient. I honestly think about the recipient with every step in the process, and I think that is what makes my favorite cards my favs, the part of myself that is with it!

I made 3 other cards this weekend, and will be back throughout the week as I can get them edited to share them all with you! Thanks for looking as always, and please give your kiddos an extra kiss and hug in Cameron's honor tonight!

TE Birthday Tree

Hello! So I thought I had signed up for Taylored Expression's Blast from the Past (I love that hop after all!) for Sept, but... oops, guess I forgot! I'm telling you, my head so is not on straight lately. Bailey's been sick, and Momma doesn't function too well on little sleep! Since I had a card made, I figured I'd share it anyways! After cutting out the tree by hand, the die is definately going to be on my next order, lol! I used Taylored Expressions sketch #146. Thanks for looking!

BFTP- Summer Love

Hello! I am so excited to be a part of Taylored Expressions July Blast from the Past. This month's theme is Sending you Sunshine!! We definately have sunshine here in Iowa. It is so hot and humid that when I went outside to take pictures, my camera lens fogged over and I had to sit outside to let it adjust for awhile! My card took a turn towards lovey dovey, but summer is in the sentiment so it counts, right? : ) This is for my dad to give my mom on their anniversary, I know she'll love it. I received my first Key Ingredients Kit in the mail, and OH MY, I am so glad I subscribed! As soon as I got the package I was in my craft hole and this was the result! All the supplies are from the July Kit except the CTMH brads and the GKD button. The stamp set is Summer Afternoon. I used my Spica Glitter pen on the butterflies and dragonfly- it is so pretty!

Thanks for taking a look at my card, I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Summer Flowers

Hello, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Mine could not have been better. I even had time in my craft room. I made this card for my mom to give a former co-worker who is retiring. This card came together really quickly and is super cute in person! I used Taylored Expressions sketch #141.

Blast from the Past

Hello! Today I am a part of the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop! I have loved the Taylored Expressions stamps for awhile now, especially the Christmas stamps. Plus, now that Taylor's an Iowa girl too, gotta show her some love : ) I started with the sketch given, but it ended up very different! I used the Wings of Joy stamp set- it's so cute. I had an awful day at work yesterday and as I was putting the finishing touches on my card, it cheered me up. May you all find joy all around you this Christmas! Thanks for looking!

Spooky Birthday

Hello! I found a digital stamp company from the Copic Creations blog, Tiddly Inks. I fell in love with one of their images in particular, Spooky Birthday, and thought, if only I knew someone who's birthday was in October, I would totally use that image. Luckily my mom reminded me that my sister's boyfriend, Rob, who is like a brother, has a birthday Oct 29th.... yay! So I placed my second order of the day : ) I had to color her right away, using my sister as inspiration! I really love how the card turned out. I used Taylored Expressions Sketch #130.

Be Still

Hello and happy Wednesday! I made this card for a friend from church who's going through a lot right now. Patrick made them a lasagna and I made the card to go with (trust me, it's better that way!) I used Taylored Expressions sketch 129 and the card came together quickly. I hope our little care package brings her some comfort. Thanks for taking a look.

Distressed Birthday

Hello! Today I have another card I was able to make last weekend. My Grandma's birthday was Sunday and I made this card for my parents to give her. My cousin and her fiance came back from Florida and my sister and her boyfriend came from Chicago to celebrate. It was fabulous to have everyone together, it's been since Christmas since thats happened! I used Taylored Expressions Sketch #126. I loved how Taylor used her Scor-Buddy to emboss the border around her card and thought I'd give it a try. I used black embossing powder on the sentiment to add a little more interest to the card. With the embossing and distressing, this card is also my submission for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge #27: Texture it!

Sympathy Lillies

This is a sympathy card I made for my best friend and her family. Her Grandpa died last week and his funeral was Tuesday. We have both moved away so we don't see each other much anymore. I wanted to make a card to let her know I am thinking about her. Her grandpa was a wonderful man, and I pray this card brings her comfort! I used Taylored Expressions Sketch #112.

Hawkeye Ian

Hello! I made this card for my husband's birthday. Even though he graduated from UNI and is a Panther at heart, he is also a big Iowa fan and has season tickets to the Hawkeye football games. I used Taylored Expressions Sketch #104.
