Peace, Joy, Love

Hello! There's another challenge up for Christmas Card Challenges: Bows.

I have to say, I really love this card with it's blue and red. The paper is from Lawn Fawn's Peace Joy Love pack... love it! I colored the sweet little angel from LOTV with copics and added my clear Spica glitter pen to her wings. Some misc ribbon finishes it off! The sketch is Mojo Monday # 316. I'm also playing along with LOTV's Ideas to Inspire monthly challenge: Anything goes.

Thanks for looking! Be sure to check out the challenge blog to see the other great creations!

Filled With Love

Hello! I'm back today to share a card I made for my sister's bridal shower coming up!

I used Mojo Monday #312 for the layout, the paper pack is MME: Miss Caroline Dolled Up. I colored the cutie from Tiddly Inks with copics. The sentiment is Taylored Expressions and I finished it off with some Verve seam binding and a CTMH button. I added my Spica glitter pens to her, although it doesn't show well. I'm not sure why the card looks so pink in the picture, sorry about that...

Thanks for looking!

Peace & Joy

Hello! I'm back with another card for both Christmas Card Challenges: Music and ABC Challenges: Very Cute. I thought these were great challenges to combine again, especially since ABC Challenges is being sponsored by Stamp and Create, who is having a Christmas sale here!

I used this cute Tilda who's playing music... perfect right!! The sketch is Mojo Monday #310. I used some papers and ric rac ribbon from CTMH, the flower and pearl are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I added some clear Spica glitter pen to her wings and some gold to the violin, although I couldn't get the pics to capture it.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a chance to play along. Don't forget to check out the challenge sites to see the rest of the teams' creations!

Do Not Give Up

Hello! I know that I've mentioned this before, but work has been an absolute mess this summer. I've been burned out for quite awhile now and it really started to get the best of me. I found I was getting short tempered with my family, co-workers, and patients and I was so tired of feeling so angry and exhausted all the time. I absolutely love my Verve stamp collection and a couple of Sundays ago I just sat in my craft room and made a card with a favorite scripture to sit on my desk. I did it again last Sunday and decided to try my best to make it a weekly occasion, because I do notice a calming effect from the little reminders from the verses. I'm calling it my card of the week and I'm having fun sharing them with my co-workers.
This is the one I made for this past week and it has been a reminder that even though it may not seem as if anyone is noticing, when I give my best to my patients I have a greater chance of being the nurse who made a difference.

I used Mojo Monday #309 for the layout, I seriously had so much fun with it and love how the card turned out! The paper is MME: Life of the Party.

Thanks for looking and for putting up with my venting! I hope to have more to share, and hopefully it won't take me all week to have a chance to post them, lol!

Twinkle Brightly

Hello! I have been looking forward to today all week, I have a day off, woo hoo! I played slowpitch softball last night so I can see a day of resting sore muscles by sitting at my desk making cards. Turning 30 is hard on a body, lol!

I had a co-worker ask me to make a baptism card for her grandson and I am so happy with how it turned out! I struggled at first but then saw the sketch for this week at MojoMonday and it was a breeze from there! The paper is from an old CTMH pack. The sentiment and verse are from Verve, perfect for a precious little one! A CTMH button and misc baker's twine and rhinestones finish it off. I also used my much loved Lil Inker Designs dies for the stitching on the edges.

As always, thanks for looking, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Birthday

Hello! I wanted to stop by and share a card that's taken me all week to make! It's Mojo Monday's 300th sketch! I love their sketches and knew I wanted to play along with the celebration, but wasn't expecting it to take me this long, lol. I started on Monday as soon as the sketch came out, and seemed to get interrupted every time I sat down to work on it. I finally finished late last night, it really felt like a victory!

My father in law's birthday is today (obviously his card is going to be late, sorry!) He loves to go fishing and recently got back from a trip to Wisconsin so I thought this image would be perfect. The scene was created using some CTMH stamps and the sentiment is from Verve. I used some CTMH patterned paper scraps.

I really loved this sketch, congrats on sketch #300 Mojo!!
Thanks for looking!

Vintage Noel

Hello! Sorry for my delay in my post for this week's Christmas Card Challenge... This week we want to see your vintage inspired cards.

I used some pretty 7 Gypsies Santa's Journey papers for my card and the great sketch from Mojo Monday #287. The sentiment is from Amy R stamps. Just some misc pearls and ribbon from a past KI kit. I used a MFT ornament die to cut out the cute kids and used a CTMH square brad to attach it.

The Noel isn't actually double lined like on my card, I had a mishap with my stamp positioner when I tried to make it darker... oh well I kind of like it this way!

Thanks for looking!

Joy

Happy Sunday, I hope your weekend is going well! The kids got their flu shots on Friday and Bailey had a fever yesterday from it. She was one grouchy little girl! No stamp time for mom this weekend so far, hopefully today will be better and that will change! Luckily I had time earlier in the week, because there's a new Christmas Card Challenge today: rip it, tear it, sand it.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and really love how my card came out! I used a super cute image from CC Designs and colored them with my copics. The joy sentiment is from Papertrey ink. I tore some of the papers from WeRMemoryKeepers Winter Frost for the snowbanks behind them and added Stickles to the torn edges to make it a pretty snow :) The snowflake is from CTMH, I'm proud I'm finally starting to use these more, I've been hoarding them for years!

The layout of the card is Mojo Monday #274, just flipped around.

Thanks for looking! I hope you have a chance to join in with Christmas Card Challenges!

To Die For

Hello again! It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge, and this one's To Die For. Use any of the great dies you have lying around. Easy enough, right? Check out all the details on the CCC blog!

For my card I used a few different dies. The tag is a die from Sizzix and I layered 2 snowflakes dies from Taylored Expressions over a circle from Spellbinders. Although there are a couple lace border dies I've been eyeballing, the border is one of my trusty Martha Stewart punches. Although it isn't traditional I think blue and brown is one of my favorite Christmas color combos. The paper is from CTMH Aspen. The main sentiment is from Verve and the Christmas Blessings is from Taylored Expressions. Some misc ribbon, twine, and pearl sticker finish it off. I used Mojo Monday #270 for the sketch.

As always, thanks for looking, I hope you have a chance to play along!

I'm also entering this card into Sweet Stampin's challenge to use punches or dies (great minds think alike!) and Fab n' Funky's challenge non-traditional Christmas

Spread your wings

Hello! I know it's been so long since I've been able to update my blog. It has been a crazy place here lately, exactly where did August go??? I'm sure this sounds familiar to many of you too! I have made some goals as far as crafting goes, I'm hoping to get started on my Christmas cards soon, and I have some friends interested in a Christmas card workshop. I did one 3 years ago, and I guess people are needing more cards :) So hopefully I'll have my rear in gear and make some crafting time for myself regularly!

I did have some time this past week and although I didn't make a Christmas card (it helps if you have Christmas paper, I'm hoping to solve that soon!), I really like how it turned out. I used Mojo Monday #257, love all the layers! I used the Doodle Deux paper pack from Prima that was in my August KI kit, which I hadn't even opened yet.... oops! The flower and Trendy Tape that I used in place of the sentiment tag were also from the kit. The sentiment is from Verve, I just stamped it on the dp with the birds, thought it was fitting and those birds are just so cute

Thanks for looking! I'm hoping to see you again soon!

Cheerful Summer

Hello! I finally had some time to play in my stamp room, yay! It was some much needed escape now that baseball season is over and we're home again! It took Patrick and I all last weekend to get the house clean so I could get away and stamp, now if only we can keep it that way, lol.... Anyone know how to convince a 2 year old she doesn't need to get out every toy she owns in order to choose to play with the same dolly : )

Sorry, back on track! It took me quite awhile to get my mojo to focus, but I love how this card turned out! It's 4.5x4.5, I really love the size, I'll have to make these more often. I chose one of the cuties from ATS, I love their sweet images. I colored the cutie with Copics and added some spica glitter pen to the cherries, although the pics don't pick it up. The Echo Park Hello Summer paper and the ribbon and gems are from June's KI kit. The Prima flowers and CTMH brads were from my stash.

The layout is Mojo Monday #248. This is also my entry for ATS Wednesday Challenge:Anything goes. I'm taking a chance and trying out for their DT. What can I say, I love Challenge sites and their sweet images, it's a great combo... check it out!

Thanks for looking!

Birthday Blessings

Hello! My great-aunt is visiting this week from North Carolina. We celebrated her 70th birthday on Sunday and this is the card I made her. It was such a beautiful day, and a very nice reunion with all the different generations there!

For my card I used a super sweet image from CC Designs and a sentiment from Verve. The patterned paper and ribbon is from a past KI kit. I just added some Prima flowers and CTMH brads and button. The sketch is Mojo Monday #241, only flipped. This card is also my submission for ATS Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Magical Birthday

Hello and Happy April Fool's Day.... It's also my daddy's birthday, so let me also say Happy Birthday Daddy, Love you : ) Since it's the first of the month it's also time for another ABC Challenge. Today's challenge is M for Magical!

Ok I have a confession to make.... I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan! The books, the movies, all of it, I love it!!

So when I saw the wizard images at Bugaboo Stamps I had to have them ALL! Then when I found out about today's challenge I was so excited for a chance to use them.

I colored Harry with Copics (in Gryffindor colors of course!) I used Mojo Monday #234 for the sketch, altered it a teensy bit though... The paper pack is Starstruck from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a chance to play along with us at ABC Challenges for a chance to win some great prizes!

Hero

Hello! Is anyone else's weekend flying by? My son had his first basketball game today, that was interesting! Entertaining definately, but interesting : )

A co-worker's son is serving in Afghanastan and our office is sending him a care package. This is the card I made for everyone who donates to sign and send along. I truly hope this little hello from home brightens his day.

I used Mojo Monday #222 for the sketch. The star is a Sissix die and I wrapped some paper twine around it. I used my Cricut to cut the HERO letters, and then I embossed them with a Cuttlebug folder and used a bit of distressing ink. I really love the look of it! The paper and red rhinestones are CTMH.

This card is also my submission for The Pink Elephant #129: Anything goes.

Thanks for looking! And to anyone reading who has ever served or has family who is now, thank you for your bravery! You are true Hero's!

Mojo Butterfly

Hello! I hope everyone reading had a great weekend. I worked last night so mine was short, but good. Last night a woman I work with gave me a cute little hat she made for Bailey. She had made one when Bailey was first born, but it was too small for her head. This one fits though, and is SO CUTE! I had some momma time tonight and used Mojo Monday Sketch 158 to make her a thank you card. I am really loving making round cards with their sketches. This is also my submission for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge 31 "Wing It." I used VersaMark Dazzle to emboss the butterfly and then inked over it to create a denim look on the textured cardstock. Thank you for looking!

A Godly Father

This is the card my mom gave my dad for Father's Day. This verse is now one of my favorites and means a lot to my family. After my grandpa died in November I found out that it was his favorite verse. A couple days after his funeral I stumbled onto this stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs and had to have it. I made picture frames for my mom and myself with my grandpa's photo and this verse. It has been such a comfort to me. To me it describes my grandpa's life and personality perfectly. My mom lucked out, my dad also is a top notch guy and this verse is very fitting for him as well : ) I used Mojo Monday 143 for the sketch. I also used Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge 18, which was a great one. From the FLOWER recipe I have an ODBD stamp, oval, circle embellishments, ribbon, and stitching (I stitched on the ribbon although you can't really see it in the picture).

Paper: CTMH Free Spirit
Stamp: ODBD
misc star and circle buttons, ribbon

Christmas Blessings

Since winter seems to be never ending this year, why not make Christmas cards, right? This is for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #10 to use red and blue on your card. I also used the Mojo Monday 125 sketch as a starting point, although I did alter it a bit. Once again, my photo skills stink : ) This card will be for my Grandma Thompson. She has a old-fashioned Santa collection that she decorates her house with at Christmas time, and this Santa stamp reminds me of her. This was the first year that she didn't get them all out, my Grandpa died right before Thanksgiving so there was a lot of other things going on. I had meant to make a card for her this last Christmas using this stamp and didn't get much stamping done at all- now thanks to Sparkle's challenges I'll be ahead of the game for 2010!!
Image: Stampin' Up, Sentiment: Verve
Paper: CTMH Everlasting
Ribbon and brads are from my stash
Copics: sorry I don't have the colors this time

Feather Blended Sugar Nellie

My goal for 2010 is to actually post cards on this blog and enter them into different challenges. I've never felt my cards were good enough to enter into the challenges, but this first one I'm actually really proud of! It's for the Copic Creations challenge 21- to use the feather blending technique. I really studied Marianne's post, it was so helpful. I blended pink and orange on her dress and purple and green for her apron. I love how it turned out, my photo skills definately don't do it justice, I'll keep working on that! I used Mojo Monday sketch 124 for the card. I also am using the card for Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge 24 to make a card with a child. This one was originally for my son to give to a friend for her birthday, but he decided to make one of his own to give her. I'll find someone else to give it to!
