Clear It Out!

Hello! Oh my goodness, where did November go?? Although I can hardly believe it, it's December 1st already. At least that means it's time for another ABC Challenge. We have a good one for you- Clear It Out... use up some of the stash you've been hoarding!

I bought this card kit from Taylored Expressions last winter to make my family's Christmas cards. But after making cards for my mom and grandmas to give out, I ran out of time. I had the paper all cut, but never got the cards together... but not this year!

I used this sweet image from Stamp Fairy (who by the way are sponsoring the challenge, yay) I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to her hat and the string of lights for some bling. The snowflake button, paper, ribbon, and pearls are all from the TE card kit.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a chance to play along!

I'm entering this card into Cute Card Thursday #245: Snowflakes and Stampin' Sisters in Christ #167: to make a Christmas card. It's their last challenge which bums me out, but I definitely understand why. Thanks for all the great challenges!

Penguin in a Box

Hello! This weekend I was able finally get everything moved back into my craft room after the "flood" It took me awhile because I really went through everything and organized. I'm glad I took the time though, it's really nice to have things I use frequently in reach, who'd have thought??  : ) I was able to get some stamping done once I finished organizing and thought I'd play along with some of my favorite challenges that I haven't joined for awhile.

The challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ is to use an image that includes a box. I found this Bugaboo image I had previously printed out and thought this would be a great time to get started on my Christmas cards! This card came together really quickly thanks to a great sketch at Sweet Sunday Sketch. The paper is Mistletoe from CTMH and the sentiment is from a Taylored Expressions set. I stamped it on a flag strip from my new MFT dies that I couldn't seem to put down! Just some misc pearls to finish it off.

This sweet penguin is also my entry for the Catch the Bug's October Anything Goes challenge.

I also want to mention we are having a DT call over at ABC Challenges, all the details are here. It's a very fun group with some of the sweetest ladies! Come and join us!

As always, thanks for looking!

With Deepest Sympathy...

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I know I got a lot of stamping done, however it was with great sorrow in my heart. A family from the church I grew up in unexpectantly lost their son who was a freshman in high school on Saturday. It has definately left a mark on my heart. I made this card for my mom to give to his parents. They have been through so much in the past few years, I truly pray this card brings them comfort!

I used Taylored Expressions sketch #151... seriously love how it turned out. The papers, ribbon, and brads are all from November's Key Ingredients Kit. The swirl on front is CTMH and Prima flowers inside. The beautiful scripture is a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the inside stamp is from Taylored Expressions.

This card is also my submission for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #124: Show your true style. I know my style is more simple, but it is full of love! I truly feel my true style and my best cards are the ones where I am honestly trying to bring some joy or peace to the recipient. I honestly think about the recipient with every step in the process, and I think that is what makes my favorite cards my favs, the part of myself that is with it!

I made 3 other cards this weekend, and will be back throughout the week as I can get them edited to share them all with you! Thanks for looking as always, and please give your kiddos an extra kiss and hug in Cameron's honor tonight!

Merry Christmas!

Hello and Merry Christmas! Today I just have a quick post to share one of the *few* Christmas cards I actually made this year... yes it has truly been 24 days since I last posted! Has anyone else totally lost the month of December??

This is the card I made my Grandma, it is sooo pretty and shiny! There is no patterned paper on this card. It's been awhile since I've made one without any! I made the background using a CTMH swirl stamp and some pearl embossing powder. I then sponged around the embossing to help it pop. I also used the embossing powder on all the edges and on the flower from Recollections... I am seriously loving the flower! I used my Prismacolor pencils to add some shading to my main image (CTMH, scripture set CTMH also) Just some ribbon and pearls to finish off the card.

I hope you all have a wonderful day with friends and family, and may we always remember the reason for the season!

Happy Birthday baby Jesus!

This card is my submission for Christmas Card Challenges: Non-traditional colors, and for Stampin' Sister's in Christ #120: a Christmas card that reflects the TRUE reason!

B is for Boo!

Hello! The ABC Challenge is back and going strong! I hope you were able to play along with the past challenge, there were so many awesome entries. Today there is a new challenge... "B for Boo!" We want to see your spooky Halloween projects, check out the challenge blog for all the details.

My card isn't exactly spooky... this little guy is much too cute : ) I tried to channel Jack Sparrow with the black lace.... Oh how I love Captain Jack Sparrow! I used the Sweet Stop Sketch #129, and I'll be honest the circle really freaked me out at first until I found some old paper that had a moon image with the bird and old tree and problem solved! Thanks for looking, I hope you can play along!

Anniversary Bear

Hello! I finally have my August SFYTT card to share! This was made for my mom to give my dad for their anniversary, but I wasn't able to photograph it before she picked it up. She was finally able to drop it back off at my house yesterday. Then I couldn't get my photo editing program to work, so this has been quite a challenge getting this ready to share! But I did really enjoy making it, this little bear from Stamp Fairy just kept making me smile while I was coloring him. This is also my submission for Crazy 4 Challenges #102: to make a male themed card and Stampin Sisters in Christ's recipe challenge. Thanks for looking!

Ribbon Heart Valentine

Hello, thanks for visiting! I had some time to stamp on Saturday after my husband got home from work. It's tax season and he's an accountant so this time is very hectic in our house. I was waiting for him at the door with the kids... it was an "I'll be in my stamp room" moment : ) I am so happy to say that I actually got 3 cards done that night, which for me is huge lately. I'm still not feeling back to normal and Bailey has the flu... again... so I'm very excited to have made cards that I'm happy with! This is the card I made for my dad to give my mom for Valentine's day... she's going to love it! I've loved the look of lace on cards that I've been seeing and wanted to try it, and LOVE how it turned out! I used February's SFYTT. 2 months into it and I'm still on track for the big prize at the end lol! This is also my submission for Stampin Sisters in Christ #75 to make a card with no writing on the front but still signifies love and for Simon Says Stamp challenge: Love is in the air. Thanks for looking!

God's Love

I made this card to give to a wonderful friend from church. She gave Bailey a cute hat and a book for her baptism and was even kind enough to think of Caleb. He loves dinosaurs and she gave him a book on dinosaurs. I made her this card as a thank you. I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge 9 sketch. I love it, it will definately be one I use again! I had to ink up two of my new Ippity stamps. You can't tell in the picture, but I embossed the cross behind the sentiment. I love the precut stamps, so easy! I also used the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge #33 to make a card with Love on it, although I didn't get it posted in time to enter... oops! : )

Twinkle, Twinkle

Even though Bailey is only 2 months old, I couldn't stop thinking about her while I was coloring this image. This card is inspired by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #26 from 1 John 4:10, to make a card letting someone know how much God loves them. It is my prayer that my children never doubt how much they are loved, not only by Patrick and myself, but by God as well. The inside of the card is stamped with "You're such a blessing." My camera battery died before I had taken the inside shot! I used the Friday Sketchers sketch #89, I really love how it turned out. Now that I've learned how to do the feather blending technique with my Copics, I apparently can't stop! The Copic Creations challenge #22 is to use Copics to color embellishments. I colored the rhinestones with YR12, although it doesn't show up well in the picture. I had also colored a button for the middle of the flowers, but it didn't turn out too well, way too pink for my taste, so a brad did the trick : ) The card is red for Crazy 4 Challenges and has bling also for the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge.

Feather Blended Sugar Nellie

My goal for 2010 is to actually post cards on this blog and enter them into different challenges. I've never felt my cards were good enough to enter into the challenges, but this first one I'm actually really proud of! It's for the Copic Creations challenge 21- to use the feather blending technique. I really studied Marianne's post, it was so helpful. I blended pink and orange on her dress and purple and green for her apron. I love how it turned out, my photo skills definately don't do it justice, I'll keep working on that! I used Mojo Monday sketch 124 for the card. I also am using the card for Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge 24 to make a card with a child. This one was originally for my son to give to a friend for her birthday, but he decided to make one of his own to give her. I'll find someone else to give it to!
