Hero

Hello! Is anyone else's weekend flying by? My son had his first basketball game today, that was interesting! Entertaining definately, but interesting : )

A co-worker's son is serving in Afghanastan and our office is sending him a care package. This is the card I made for everyone who donates to sign and send along. I truly hope this little hello from home brightens his day.

I used Mojo Monday #222 for the sketch. The star is a Sissix die and I wrapped some paper twine around it. I used my Cricut to cut the HERO letters, and then I embossed them with a Cuttlebug folder and used a bit of distressing ink. I really love the look of it! The paper and red rhinestones are CTMH.

This card is also my submission for The Pink Elephant #129: Anything goes.

Thanks for looking! And to anyone reading who has ever served or has family who is now, thank you for your bravery! You are true Hero's!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with friends and family! I just love everyone gathering together. I know I had mentioned the other day that I would show this card on Tuesday, but we had a tragic event happen within our church community and my focus has been elsewhere. I do ask for your thoughts and prayers for a family struggling after their young son took his life. It has definately made me take a step back and look at my family and our priorities. Take the time to give your kids a hug tonight and tell them you love them!

So back to the card, this one went to my Grandma. The image is an old one from Stampin Up. I love the sweetness of all the scarecrow provides! I colored it with Copics. Again, I kept this card simple just added some Liquid pearls in the corners, a Prima flower with a CTMH button, and some twine and ribbon. The sentiment is also CTMH.

This card is my submission for The Pink Elephant #126: Giving Thanks and The Shabby Tea Room #89: colors of nature. Isn't that inspiration photo beautiful?! Thanks for looking. Enjoy Black Friday shopping for those of you that venture out, I still haven't made my decision.... : )

My Inspiration

I had a wonderful Mother's day, I hope all the other mothers out there did too! Caleb gave me a
ship made out of Legos, lucky me! I also got a beautiful plant and a piece of cheesecake, my kids know the way to my heart : ) Most of the cards I've had time to make lately have been Mother's day cards. This is the card I made for my grandma. The sentiment says "You have been my inspiration, my confidante, my friend. Because of you I've learned to love, to forgive, and to live a life filled with purpose." This definately describes my relationship with my grandma. I used Card Patterns Sketch 63 for this one. I loved this sketch, and really liked how my card turned out. This is also my submission for The Pink Elephant 66 to use yellow, design paper, and buttons on your card.
Sentiment: Verve
"mother" in background is CTMH
Paper: CTMH Paper Garden
Prima flowers, CTMH button, misc ribbon and twine

Valentine

I'm a little late showing this card, but still wanted to share! This is the valentine I made for my dad to give to my mom. I put it together really fast since I didn't have much notice : ) She really liked it though and that's all that mattered. It was very easy to put together, I pretty much just used scraps that were already cut. This is also my submission for The Pink Elephant challenge #54 to use ribbon, easy enough right!

Stamps: Verve (love in background is CTMH)

Paper: CTMH More to Adore

Prima flowers, CTMH button and floss, misc ribbon, heart is from a gift bag we received with a gift for Bailey. It was ripped so I took the embellies off it : )
