Guardian Angel

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I truly could not have asked for a better one! So much fun with family!! Unfortunately, it had to end sometime. Today I discovered someone decided to share their cold with me... ahem, mother : ) My head is in a vise so this post is going to be short and sweet so I can head to bed : )
I made this card earlier this fall for my mother in law, after her mom passed away. I kept forgetting I still needed to post it until now. I used the Guardian Angel image from Sugar Nellie and a scripture set from ODBD. The patterned paper is from CTMH- I love the way her dress looks paper pieced with that pretty paper! I tried to color her with Prismacolor pencils instead of my Copics... I definately have a long way to go until I can make it look as good as some of you ladies out in blogland!
Thanks for looking, I hope you all are able to keep away from the germs, lol!

other supplies: CTMH ribbon, stickles, misc pearls

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with friends and family! I just love everyone gathering together. I know I had mentioned the other day that I would show this card on Tuesday, but we had a tragic event happen within our church community and my focus has been elsewhere. I do ask for your thoughts and prayers for a family struggling after their young son took his life. It has definately made me take a step back and look at my family and our priorities. Take the time to give your kids a hug tonight and tell them you love them!

So back to the card, this one went to my Grandma. The image is an old one from Stampin Up. I love the sweetness of all the scarecrow provides! I colored it with Copics. Again, I kept this card simple just added some Liquid pearls in the corners, a Prima flower with a CTMH button, and some twine and ribbon. The sentiment is also CTMH.

This card is my submission for The Pink Elephant #126: Giving Thanks and The Shabby Tea Room #89: colors of nature. Isn't that inspiration photo beautiful?! Thanks for looking. Enjoy Black Friday shopping for those of you that venture out, I still haven't made my decision.... : )

Autumn Day

Hello! Monday totally drug by today... I'm so thankful it's only a 3 day work week! Speaking of thankful, I have a couple of cards I'm giving family members for Thanksgiving to show the next couple days. Patrick picked out this card to go to his Aunt, she is hosting Thanksgiving for his giant family. So since she won't let us bring anything (other than "your smiling faces"), I'm bringing her a card for all the work she will put into the meal. I might also sneak in something small : )

I used Deconstucted Sketch #28 for the layout... seriously LOVE this one. I will definately use it again, and next time I will include the big, loopy bow. I just felt the simple twine would go best with the scarecrow and simple design I chose for this card. I used a super cute Bugaboo digital stamp for this week's Catch the Bug Thanksgiving challenge. The DP, brads, button, and sentiment are all CTMH. I finished it off with some yellow liquid pearls. I'm loving this stuff, it's on my card for tomorrow too! I'll see you then, thanks for looking!

Dazzled Christmas!

It's a busy Tuesday on my blog today! If you're looking for my Sugar Nellie post, it's below! But it's also the 15th of the month, which means it's time for another ABC Challenge! Today's challenge is D for Dazzle! It is being sponsored by the sooo cute Bugaboo stamps, be sure to play along for a chance to win some great digis.

When I first saw this challenge, my initial thought was of that guy on the latest Project Runway who bedazzled everything! But since I'm so behind on my Christmas cards, I decided to bedazzle Christmas instead! Unfortunately, this time of year I don't see the sun, and my photos show it! The dazzle of my card is so lost! The MME background paper is glittered and so subtly sparkly if that's possible! I used a Spellbinder's embossing plate and sponged white ink around it to make the snowflakes pop a little. Then I took my clear Spica glitter pen and glittered the snowflakes. To go with the CTMH Christmas sentiment stamp, I cut the Merry with my Cricut and added just a touch of Stickles. The same sweet friend who makes my crochet embellies for my cards, also made this snowflake. My layout is Card Patterns #141. Super simple, but sweet!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a chance to play along with us and show your Dazzled creation! Good luck in winning that fabulous prize : )

Contemplation

Hello everybody, happy Tuesday! I had so much fun hopping this weekend with Sugar Nellie! There were so many beautiful creations.

As you can see, I still can't put Cassie down! For this card I used Contemplation, which really seemed to be a favorite of the hop. I color my images with Copic markers, and I always feel I have the most trouble coloring hair. I think that is a reason why I am so in love with these images, the hair is so flowing, there is room to really blend the colors until I'm happy : ) So see honey, I need these stamps, they're helping me better utilize the markers I've already purchased.... lol! I'm not sure Patrick knew what he was getting into when he encouraged me to find a hobby, lol!

I used November's SFYTT, just pretend sweet Cassie is a square! The sentiment says "Hey there" and is from GKD. The papers are a mix of Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye. The dotted paper is glittered, it's really pretty! I used my new Magnolia zig zag die on the bottom panel's cardstock. Some twine, flowers, and brads and I'm done!

Thank you again to everyone who hopped with us this weekend, and for all of your comments, they totally made my day and I really appreciated them!
